Blog of the Year Award 1 star jpeg

The “Blog of the Year” award is a little different from some other awards, because you accumulate stars.

Here are the ‘rules’ for this award:

1] Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2] Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3] Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/‘

and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them.

5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group‘ and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience.

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs, and even if they have already been given the award by someone else, then you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

For more information check the FAQ on The Thought Palette.

  7. Congratulations Heather! You have received a ☆ for Blog of the Year 2012 award!
Other than adding another ☆ to your current badge, I do not expect any action to be taken, or

    Enjoy! 😀 Fae.

      • Okay – now I’m caught up and you won’t have to deal with a slew of comtenms from me! I read The Color Purple and it was by far the most powerful (and disturbing) book I’ve read this year. It won the Pulitzer and was nominated for a National Book Award in the early 80s.Thanks for hosting! It’s really gotten me to read books I never would have picked up on my own.

      • I love this!! I was thinking eailrer about how the problems I had staying committed to TWLC and TWLC2 were in part because it’s such a long time. Maybe if I think about it in terms of shorter 30 day periods it will help! Even if I just did a few 30 day challenges it might keep me focused. And a note about the Novel in 30 days thing I did it once but didn’t manage to do it the second time I tried. I already knew I could do it, but I still didn’t accomplish it. Funny how things like that happen!

  8. Congratultions, Heather, very well deserved! 🙂

  9. (I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the cocerrt place as I was unable to post it from the Dashboard.)The type of physician I would like to work with is a gerontologist. A gerontologist specializes in caring for the elderly. I have a fondness for our older population. They built out society and lived in a time that many of us can learn from. I would take great pride in caring for them as they age. In my opinion, working with a doctor that shares my passion and excitement would be the ideal work environment. The type of physician I would not be as excited to work with would be a proctologist. To be completely honest, I just don’t think I have what it takes to be in that environment. It’s important to be professional in any medical environment. I believe my sense of humor would not allow me to be as professional as I would need to be. I would also prefer not to work with ophthalmologist. Several years ago I spent a week with my grandfather at a specialist to have cataracts removed. I found it very difficult to watch the videos of my grandfather’s up coming procedures. It wasn’t difficult caring for my grandfather after surgery, but I must admit the pre-op was an experience that I would not want to assist in on a daily bases.

  11. Kate, I like the way you think. How would you guys feel about doing a 30 day challenge raeetld to TWLC? Each month we can each pick something new (they could all be different), check-in with each other and stay accountable. I think you’re right Kate, it’s kind of like what you said in your blog today about starting off great and then oooh something shiny! . At least this way we can concentrate on ONE thing all month (drinking a certain amt of water, walking, daily vitamins, etc). What do you think?
